Without the Legal Aid Society, Stacey Lloyd would have lost the only home she has ever owned, the pastoral place in Porter Corners where she has raised two sons and cared for her granddaughter and, because she runs her own business, that is the center of her professional life, too.

When Annie Parsons borrowed a friends car, she never imagined that a simple errand would cause so much trouble. Annie borrowed the car to drive the short distance from Cohoes to Albany and unfortunately was involved in an accident along the way.

Gail Spicer, a widowed homeowner living in rural Cambridge, New York, found herself headed down the path to foreclosure.

The Legal Aid Society

Defending New York Citys Most Vulnerable Communities

The Legal Aid Society exists for one simple yet powerful reason:to ensure that no New Yorker is denied their right to equal justice because of poverty. For over 140 years, we have protected, defended, and advocated for those that have struggled in silence for far too long working on the front-lines and behind-the-scenes to offer our clients the exceptional legal services they deserve.

Through our Civil, Criminal Defense, and Juvenile Rights Practices, we offer an unmatched depth and breadth of legal expertise to vulnerable New Yorkers in over 300,000 legal matters each and every year.

Every day, in every borough, The Legal Aid Society changes the lives of our clients with the help of our supporters.

CLA-LA

At Christian Legal Aid of Los Angeles (CLA-LA), we understand that pursuing justice for all is an essential aspect of loving our neighbors. We believe that providing access to basic legal services is a powerful way to offer a hand-up to the most vulnerable in society: veterans, the elderly, homeless families, victims of domestic violence, and refugees.

Intake at 12:00 pm. No appointment necessary. For better assistance, please bring all documents related to your legal issue.

Our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ by cultivating a passion for justice in our community and providing free legal services and hope to those in need in Los Angeles County.

The need for free legal counsel can be overwhelming as there are thousands of clients facing homelessness, unemployment, and broken families in Los Angeles County who do not know where to turn to for help.CLA-LA seeks to bridge that gap by providing clinic consultations, office visits and trainings where clients receive 60-90 minutes of free legal advice.

During CLA-LA consultations we educate our clients on how to retain basic necessities like housing, employment, veterans benefits, good credit, and Social Security. Nearly all of our services are geared to be self-help programs where clients are educated about their legal rights and then trained to handle the dispute themselves. In all we do we seek to provide compassionate counseling and comfort to those struggling with legal challenges.
